A Scholarship Directory Built to Be Right

Why it exists

Black families hold a small fraction of the generational wealth that white families do. That single fact turns scholarship money from something helpful into something decisive, and it means the cost of bad information is not measured in wasted clicks but in debt a student carries for a decade.

The information itself is scattered across hundreds of sites, much of it years stale, a great deal of it aggregated by people who never checked whether the award still exists. This site is an attempt to do the unglamorous part properly.

What we got wrong, and fixed

This was Precious's first site, and the first version of the catalog was put together quickly and never checked again. When we went back through it in August 2026, most of the links no longer worked, and a handful pointed at organisations we could not confirm existed at all.

Rather than patch it, we started again and added listings back one at a time, each one confirmed against the sponsor's own page first. We would rather show you a short list that works than a long one that wastes your afternoon.

How it is funded

Searching is free, there is no account, and there is no paywall. The site is supported by clearly labelled sponsored listings and unobtrusive advertising. Both are disclosed wherever they appear, and sponsored outbound links carry rel="sponsored nofollow" so search engines do not read them as editorial endorsements.

Paying does not change a fact on a listing, and not paying does not keep a real scholarship off the site. Listing an award is free and always will be.

What we will not do

• Sell, rent, or broker student data to anyone, including schools and lenders
• Require an account or an email address to see a scholarship
• Publish an award we have not checked against the sponsor's own page
• Show a deadline that has already passed as though it were open
• Imply a scholarship is restricted to Black students when the sponsor's criteria say otherwise
• Charge a student anything, at any point, for any reason
